6/29/2021 – If we had an NC FarmLink flag, it would fly at half-mast this week to honor William Hamilton, the Western North Carolina Region Director. William passed away this past weekend. William was passionate about doing good, serving his community and state, advocating for working farmlands, and being a super family guy.
Since joining N.C. Cooperative Extension in 2018, William helped grow NC FarmLink into the 4th ranked FarmLink program in the nation. He was always strategically thinking how our state and counties could enhance services, policies, and programs to assist landowners and farm seekers, a critically important issue in a state-ranked 2nd in the nation for farmland at risk
If you ever met William, you will never forget him and his kind demeanor, always wanting to accommodate those around him. We are forever grateful to William for his dedicated service to help farmers in North Carolina find and steward their farmland.
Personally, and amidst the moments of profound sadness, I am forever grateful for the opportunity to have worked alongside William as the Eastern Region North Carolina FarmLink Director. I will continue to hear his voice in my head as long as I am involved with this organization that he loved.
Please join NC FarmLink and N.C. Cooperative Extension, and keep William and his family in your hearts as we all reflect on the gift of William.
