The North Carolina Pollinator Conservation Alliance invites you to kick off National Pollinator Week 2021 and join us for our fourth annual Pollinator Field Day on June 22 from 3–4:30 p.m.! This will be a virtual event, so you can enjoy the program from the comfort of your home! We hope to be back in the field next year. In the meantime, we will feature presentations to teach you about North Carolina native habitat for pollinators, native bees, and pesticide stewardship.

Audience: Farmers; Beekeepers; Soil & Water Conservation District Supervisors and Staff; Extension Agents; Urban Planners; Landscapers and Landscape Architects; Master Gardeners; Nurserymen/Greenhouse Growers.

Bees, butterflies, moths, and other beneficial insects provide valuable ecosystems services through pollination. These same insects also pollinate native plants in our rural and urban landscapes, helping to maintain our state’s lush green vegetation. Helping pollinators has never been more important!

Agenda:

My Top 25 Native Pollinator Plants in North Carolina
Debbie Roos, N.C. Cooperative Extension

Native Bees: Diversity and Identification
Elsa Youngsteadt and Hannah Levenson, NC State University

Pesticide Misuse Inside and Outside of Hives: How to Avoid it
Lewis Cauble, N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services
