It’s That Time of Year Again — Preemergence Weed Control

— Written By

Summer annual weeds, like crabgrass and spurge, are best controlled NOW. For maximum effectiveness, mulches or preemergence herbicides need to be applied before weed seeds germinate. Top dress landscapes with a fresh layer of mulch before spring. This will prevent most summer annual weeds from becoming a problem. In areas with a history of summer weed populations, you may wish to use a preemergence herbicide. This may be applied before or after mulching.
